7 Layer Door Hanger

You have heard of 7 Layer Mexican Dip?? Well, I'm not a good cook, But I can make this.... Ok, I will admit it I am cheap! I like nice things, and the things I am usually drawn to in stores have nice price tags. That is how it has always been for me with EVERYTHING…clothes, shoes, decorative items, etc, etc… The other week, I was in a local store browsing around when I noticed these adorable spring door hangers. I just loved them, but as soon as I turned over the price tag I said, “Of course!” $100.00! See, I have double front doors, so that made my price go up to $200.00! On to plan B….I CAN MAKE THESE!! I was so sad that I had no camera to “sneak” a picture, so I just had to study them for a while, while reminding the clerk…."I’m just browsing!” Ok, so off I went to Hobby Lobby (my 2nd favorite store). I had NO clue what I was going to get, I just knew I needed some sticks, some flowers, and some other cute spring do-dads! I ended up with:
*Dried sticks
*Some green leafy things
*Gerber daisies
*Some ball things that were made of wound sticks
*Birds Nests
*Ribbon
*Long stem that had white flowers on it
*Floral tape
I got it all laid out how I wanted it to look then just started layering it all on top of each other. After each layer I wrapped the middle with floral tape. I did the layers in this order: Sticks, long stem w/flowers, green leafy things (2..one up one down), daisies (3…two up, one down) Balls made of sticks (2..one up one down), Ribbon tied around middle, then hot glued the nest on top. I trimmed all the long sticks from the flowers and greenery, I twisted one of the leftover sticks into a "U" shape and glued it on the back for the hanger, and cut the price tags (not sure why I did not do this first??)

Total Cost: About $30.00 ($15.00 each) **I waited until all stems were 50% off at Hobby Lobby for the best deal!
